Does Pinterest Have You Feeling Confused & Overwhelmed?
You’re not the only one - trust me!
When I first started my journey as an online business owner, I avoided Pinterest like the plague. Sure, I’d used it for finding recipes, planning my wedding, and even finding fun activities for my kids. But when it came to using it for promoting my business - I was totally lost. So, I spent hours and hours researching everything I could about Pinterest. I wanted to know everything there was to know in order to grow my business the way I saw others doing.
Over time, I’ve used that research to grow an account from 30,000 to 110,000 monthly viewers in just 8 weeks and increase the number of click-throughs to a client’s website by 325%!
Pinterest has a pretty steep learning curve, and it can be hard to keep up with the many changes that occur (on a seemingly frequent basis) over time. Who has time for all of that, on top of running a business?!
This is where a Pinterest Manager comes in handy! A Pinterest manager will follow the Pinterest news, making changes and adjustments to your Pinterest Strategy as needed - without you having to lift a finger.
Why Should I be Using Pinterest?
Pinterest is one of the most dynamic platforms for promoting your content. Pins have a longer “shelf life” than posts on any other platform - unlike Instagram, where your post hangs around for a few minutes on your followers feeds or under a hashtag, a Pin will show up in users SmartFeeds and searches for days, weeks, months, and even YEARS after being pinned. Because Pinterest is a “co-operative” platform, you aren’t the only one sharing your content either. Other Pinners will share, or “pin,” your blog posts to their own boards as well - giving you more visibility.
There are currently over 200 million active users on Pinterest. 93% of those users have said that they use Pinterest to plan future purchases - and 87% of Pinners have purchased something because of Pinterest.
Those numbers are incredibly telling - and a sure sign that Pinterest is the place to be!
What is a Pinterest Manager?
A Pinterest Manager (or Pinterest VA, Pinterest Strategist, Pinterest Marketer… etc.) is someone who helps entrepreneurs and business owners to develop and implement a Pinterest marketing strategy for their business.
The above terms are relatively interchangeable - I personally use Pinterest Strategist when I’m referring to my setup or audit services, and Pinterest Manager for management services - when I’m actually managing and pinning for a client on a regular basis.
As I mentioned before, a Pinterest manager follows the Pinterest news, making changes and adjustments to your Pinterest Strategy as needed.
There are a wide variety of Pinterest services available - you can check out mine here. Account Setup services include creation of a Pinterest Business account, website verification, Rich Pin setup, creation & filling of niche-related boards, and personalized keyword recommendations.
Account Audit services are best for established accounts that need a little kick in the rear. An audit can help pinpoint the cause of any issues you might be having with Pinterest, as well as giving you a fresh look & ideas moving forward.
Account Management is the day-to-day management of your Pinterest account. It’s best for business owners who don’t have the time (or the desire!) to spend time establishing and implementing a pinning strategy. Whether your biz is established on Pinterest or brand new to the scene - anyone can benefit from a customized, done-for-you Pinterest strategy!
Who needs a Pinterest VA?
EVERYONE! No, seriously - almost everyone in any type of business (and at any stage) can benefit from help in the Pinterest department. In my experience, there are typically four types of people when it comes to Pinterest - people who:
1) Are brand new to Pinterest
Getting started on Pinterest can be scary. Learning the new lingo, setting up a profile, developing a strategy… all of it can be super overwhelming! Getting your account set up and done the right way from the get-go ensures that you start off with your best foot forward.
2) Don’t understand how to use Pinterest
Maybe you’re on Pinterest, but you have NO IDEA what you’re supposed to be doing. It’s all so confusing! A 1:1 coaching session with a Pinterest Strategist where you fine-tune your account and develop a realistic, personalized pinning strategy can help deal with the overwhelm and help you to feel in control.
3) Aren’t getting the results they want from Pinterest
You’re using Pinterest, but you’re not sure if you’re doing it right - because you’re not getting those impressive results you see everyone else bragging about. What gives?? An account audit will help you address your problem areas and give you new ideas to implement moving forward - helping you harness the powers of Pinterest and grow your business.
4) Don’t have time to use Pinterest to the fullest
Let’s be honest - Pinterest can be a massive time suck. You’re running a business - you don’t have time to keep up with the newest recommendations, schedule enough pins each day, check in to your Tribes, or analyze your results. Pinterest Management means that you no longer have to remember to pin, refill your scheduler queue, or check on your analytics. Growing your business has never been so easy!
What Does a Pinterest Manager Do?
Each Pinterest expert will have their own services, processes, and preferred ways of doing things. Before I start working with a new client, I make sure to ask them a few key questions to get a feel of their Pinterest experience, knowledge, the type of business they run, and what they hope to gain through Pinterest. Once we’ve made an agreement, I start with the services.
If the client has chosen an account setup or audit package, it’s a pretty simple process that takes anywhere from 3-5 days, depending on their account and the service selected.
Pinterest Management packages are, obviously, ongoing packages, and are a little bit different. All of my Management packages come with a free account setup/audit, just so that each account starts out at about the same “baseline.”
For a setup or audit package, all that’s required is a Pinterest Business account. For Management packages, I request that clients have their own Tailwind scheduling account set up as well.
When should I hire a Pinterest Manager?
There’s no magic formula for when you’re ready to hire a Pinterest Manager. You don’t need a certain number of followers or blog posts - a Pinterest Manager can benefit your business at any time. Adding a Pinterest expert to your team will help you grow your traffic, community, email list, and your income.
